Lesson Plan

To help students reach untapped potential in a creative and engaging way.  Students will be encouraged to learn the specific elements of literature including personification, alliteration, assonance, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, metaphors, and similes through song recall, video creation, or "in-class" music performances.  Students can work together in groups, encouraging them to become the "directors" of their songs or videos by truly understanding the content and then applying that in their direction.

Students will be required to identify elements of figurative language and bring them to life through recall, memorization, and understanding of the concepts.  Using these musical approach will help to appeal to multiple student learning styles and strengths and will also allow them to express themselves and their understanding of the topics in a more authentic way.
