Subtraction

Is it just me, or is subtraction one of the hardest concepts to teach? When you remove the manipulatives and pictures, my kids just get so confused! This week we are working with number lines and counting back. I made a number line on the floor for the students to hop back and forth on. I would love to hear some new ideas on teaching subtraction. What else do you use to help with subtraction?
