Be like a Magnet!
Greetings,
I think as educators, who want to learn and grow, we should see ourselves as magnets for good ideas. No matter how long you have been teaching, it's important to keep an open mind and the maintain the right attitude towards learning new methods and ideas that can transform your classroom.
That's the amazing thing about this profession. No matter how good you get, you can always reach a new level, whether it's with your classroom management, technological ability or instructional delivery. However, you often have to seek out good ideas--they won't go chasing after you.
Sometimes a great idea can be found by reading a book, searching the Internet, attending a workshop or just passing by another teacher's classroom. Take that seed and plant it--and each year develop it and watch it grow. Within a few years, students will be lining up to get in your classroom because it's fun, engaging anf dynamic.
Please stop by my group, Innovative Teaching, on Ed World, to read some different ideas and perhaps share some of your own.
Take care,
Steve
