210 Journal Prompts

How many times have we teachers heard our students say, "I don't like to write" or "I don't like the prompt"? I've been an avid writer since childhood so it was difficult for me to put myself those students' shoes. I was determined to come up with a list of prompts that my students could connect with and be excited about. Many prompts are mandatory, school or district wide, and I've found that those types of prompts don't inspire or motivate students to produce quality written pieces.
