CDs Are Dead
A new report from tech Web site CNet is predicting that CDs will cease to be produced as early as 2012. While the demise of the format has been predicted with relative ease due to the explosion of digital downloads, the news that it will happen in less than 24 months is impressive. Given that teachers often use CD-based software and music discs in the classroom, how are these educators preparing for the digital armegddon?
Some things to think about are:
The death of CDs also means that CD players will cease to be produced.
Getting the information off the disc and onto a hard drive of some sort is now a priority.
Upgrading classroom technology can no longer sit ont eh back burner.
