The crew here at Education World are big on technology. We're trying out iPad apps, exploring Google+ and envisioning new ways to make technology work both for education and ourselves. But that doesn't mean that we don't have varying degrees of comfort with technology. We do.

Let's all share our comfort levels with technology ... and moreover, share what your must-have tech gadgets/programs/tools are. It's interesting and it can help us better understand where everyone is.

Tech comfort level

I agree that every teacher should use technology to some degree. I don't think you can blame a teacher who is willing to use it, but the school doesn't provide the equipment or can't afford it.  Really ambitious teachers can also write grants and pursue funding, of course.

I feel fairly comfortable with technology, but what I think is really important is that the technology is woven into classroom instruction as smoothly as possible. It should be where teachers are using a program for the sake of using it, but rather to enhance what they are already doing.

Good Point

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Over my teaching career, I

Over my teaching career, I have taught on every level. At each on of these levels, I made sure that technology was an integral part of my classroom. The result; consistently high standardized test scores. Teachers who refuse to get with the times and learn how to use educational technology in their classroom are missing out.
