Math Assessment

With the Common Core Standards, math assessments have been a challenge in my school. We have had to step away fromt eh textbook for certain standards.  We have begun to create our own assessments where students are able to manipulate objects while showing mastery of the skills. 

What do your math assessments look like? Have you had to step away from the textbook as well?

I took a class this summer from a local gal Torrey Volk who has created math assessments for all grades. She runs her own math consulting business Discover Math. I have been using them. As I said she is local here in Washington State. There is also software to help track student progress.

I just googled her, and her stuff looks great. You are lucky you have someone local who really gets it. I may have to look into purchasing some of her products. Thanks for the recommendation!
