Our district is struggling with instituting consistent interventions for students struggling academically. Staffing and time constraints prohibit many of the strategies from being implemented. We have tried before and after school intervention programs, but student (and parent) committment to these programs on a regular basis has been an issue. Our teachers are becoming frustrated with our whole RTI process as they are being asked to add assessments, interventions, and documentation of results but have no additional time to work with the students in-depth on a consistent basis. Ideas from those with programs that work would be helpful.
